Henry's handball

France 1 Rep of Ireland 1

‘Henry's handball in the build up to the winning goal in Wednesday's play-off against the Republic of Ireland has brought condemnation from across the football world.’

Recent headlines made for very uncomfortable reading.

However,
“Don't be so quick to judge Henry” http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/gabriele_marcotti/11/19/wc.qualifying/#

Arsenal 6-2 Blackburn Rovers + Thierry Henry watches this game

Six Gunners score as Arsenal overcome early Blackburn goals

Except for a few sloppy defending issues and not making more of their endless chances, Arsenal showed us today that football can truly be the most beautiful game.

And Thierry Henry was watching the game too.

Thierry Henry may have answered my tweet:
"@Thierry_Henry Go back to Arsenal? What? When? Playing, coaching or management?"

"I don't now. Maybe as a water boy. Who knows? I just love the club and eventually one day I will go back."

Man City v Arsenal 4-2

I'm gutted. Today Arsenal lost to another Manchester team.

Adebayor's attitude and behaviour continue to be disappointing. Arsene Wenger was so right to sell him. Good riddance.

Rosicky -a welcome return.

Come on Arsenal. Give me reason to smile.

I come bearing gifts

To avoid the disappointed look on my baby’s face, I know not to visit empty handed . These chunky choc chip cookies and tasty carrot cake brought a smile to his lovely little face.

What's my name?

Hubby usually forgets to replace those descriptive garden tags when he’s repotting. Hence, we now don't know the names of these flowering plants. Fellow bloggers suggested that the orange flowers may be Chinese Lanterns (Physalis Alkekengi). Similar.
But I’m not sure.

One of my nicknames is The Plant Murderer. I don't think this needs any explanation.

You certainly won't find me mowing the lawn either - I can't get that monster of petrol lawnmower to start anyway.  Greenfingered I am NOT but lately I've come to appreciate the garden more, particularly my hubby's magnificent efforts.

So I'm off to buy the gardener a pair of secateurs.  If I'm good, he might even show me how to use them.

Woman's Weekly - 51 delicious baking recipes

This month's Woman's Weekly Cookery Special featuring 51 delicious baking recipes is a terrific little mag with numerous mouth watering ideas. It's easy to follow instructions and lovely photos made this week's baking attempts a real pleasure.

The Blueberry & Lemon Crunch cake was a real hit; it tasted absolutely delicious. And I daren't get on the bathroom scales after devouring much of the Rich Double Chocolate Cheesecake.

If you love baking, go out and buy yourself a copy.  Great for novice cooks.

Can't wait to get my hands on the next issue, which goes on sale in October.
